Aubameyang claims the match ball as Arsenal defeats West Bromwich Albion by Six goals

Arsenal defeats West Bromwich Albion in the League Cup EFL second round tie by 6 goals to nil. Aubameyang scored a hat-trick in his first game of the season which helped Arsenal to get into the third round of the EFL Cup.

After back-to-back defeats in the new season of the Premier League, Arsenal has made an amazing comeback in the League Cup tie against West Bromwich Albion. Arsenal scored 6 goals to the last season’s Premier league team. West Bromwich was having no answers to Arsenal’s 6 goals as they didn’t manage to score even a single. The last season’s Premier League team West Bromwich Albion was playing this game as a home side. But it was not a good match for the Valerien Ismael’s (West Bromwich manager) side.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was starting in this League Cup tie after missing the first two Premier League games of the new season due to COVID-19. The 32-year-old Gabonese forward made a comeback with a bang as he scored a hat-trick in this match. Aubameyang was the one who opened the scoring for Arsenal in the 17th minute. Then, just before half-time, the Gabonese professional scored the Arsenal’s and his second goal. Not only he scored a hat-trick in this match but also he registered an assist. Nicolas Pepe scored the 3rd goal for Arsenal which was assisted by Aubameyang in the 45+1 minute.

The goals kept on coming even in the second half. The 32-year-old forward completed his hat-trick in the 62nd minute. In the 67th minute, Mikel Arteta brought another forward, Alexandre Lacazette, who also wasn’t involved in the first two Premier League games. Lacazette hits the 6th goal for Arsenal just 2 minutes after he came off the bench.

There were raining goals in the EFL Cup Second round tie for Arsenal without a reply from West Bromwich Albion. Aaron Ramsdale, the newly signed English goalkeeper from Shelfield United played his first game for Arsenal. He had a great night as he kept the clean sheet in his debut match.
