ATK Mohun Bagan defeat NorthEast United, as new coach Ferrando is off to a great start

ATK Mohun Bagan FC has made a comeback victory against North East United under a new coach Juan Ferrando.

ATK Mohun Bagan defeated NorthEast United FC on Tuesday in Hero Indian Super League. The new coach of ATK, Juan Ferrando is off to a great start. A thriller game ended with a scoreline of 3-2 where Ferrando’s men successfully made a comeback after conceding the first goal in just 2nd minute of the game. This was a very good display of football from ATK Mohun Bagan FC as they had a total of 26 shots on the opposition’s goal, out of which 8 shots were on target.

NorthEast United FC’s regular midfielder V.P. Suhair opened the scoring in just 2 minutes after the referee’s whistle. It was a goal converted by Suhair from M. Coureur’s assist. Just before the half-time whistle, ATK Mohun Bagan found the equalizing goal. It was scored by the ATK’s midfielder named Liston Colaco and assisted by striker Roy Krishna.

7 minutes after the second half started, the visitors found another goal. This time midfielder Hugo Boumous named himself on the scoresheet for Mohun Bagan. The way ATK Mohun Bagan was playing, it always felt like they are going to score another goal and they did that in the 76th minute when Hugo Boumous scored the third goal for ATK and completed his brace with that. NorthEast United was never behind in this game, they also kept on attacking and kept creating chances on the visitors’ goal, but couldn’t collect the crucial 3 points from this game. At Last, in the 87th minute, NorthEast United pulled one back and made the score 2-3. However, it was not enough for the host to take 3 points from Juan Ferrando’s men, and hence they were defeated by them in this thrilling encounter.
