Argentina defeated France in the championship game to take home the FIFA World Cup 2022 title. That, however, wasn’t enough for the nation to climb to the top of the FIFA rankings. Despite being eliminated by Croatia in the quarterfinals, Brazil remains the best footballing nation in the world.
Argentina climbed one rank to No. 2, while France, a finalist who lost, climbed one spot to No. 3. Where does India stand in FIFA? The Indian Men’s Football Team is ranked 106, while the women’s team is ranked 61.
Belgium is now ranked No. 4, a drop of two places, despite only winning one game in Qatar and failing to get through the group round. The Netherlands and England are still placed Nos. 5 and 6, respectively, despite being ousted in the quarterfinals. Up five positions to No. 7, Croatia Despite not qualifying for the World Cup, Italy, the current European champion, is rated eighth. Morocco is the top-ranked African nation, rising 11 spots to No. 11 as a result of its historic run to the semifinals.
