Manchester United shocked as Aston Villa beat them in a thrilling game by 1-0 after Bruno Fernandes missing an important last minute penalty.

On Saturday, Manchester United looked to finally have a comfortable win when they take over Dean Smith’s Aston Villa at Old Trafford, as fans hoped for an enthralling performance. Surprisingly, it was Aston Villa who came on top to win an absolute thriller by beating the host 1-0 leaving the fans absolutely shell shocked. In the first half, the match began with Villa attacking the United defense as Matthew Target spurned Matty Cash’s cross over the back unmarked at the back before David De Gea slipped while making the clearance directly to Ollie Watkins who later saved his shot, after a huge blunder by Harry Maguire. United got a chance only for Paul Pogba heading the ball wide of the far post.

The second half started with the visitors continuously creating at will with David De Gea denying Watkins again from a long-range shot, failing to score, unfortunately. The Red Devils were struggling with their possession, as Harry Maguire was soon substituted by Victor Lindelof who wanted to play a crucial role in this game. Uruguayan player Edinson Cavani to come in to play substituting Scott Mctominay, in order to bring some hope for the fans to celebrate.

The surprise moment came on the 85th minute when Douglas Luiz cross was found by Kourtney House who headed the ball in the corner at the near post beating the keeper to give Villa the important goal as Dean Smith was absolutely electrified with that set-piece creation.

The drama continued as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side got an invitation back into the game when Hause handled Cavani’s goal-bound header in the area giving United a late dying penalty. Bruno Fernandes had the chance to level from the spot but unfortunately blazed his spot-kick over the bar leaving the fans in big shock despite Cristiano Ronaldo being there.

Manchester United lose their first match of the season as Aston Villa celebrate like no other with this astonishing victory by 1-0 at Old Trafford.

Manchester United slipped to the 4th spot as they will face Everton as Aston Villa travel to will face Tottenham Hotspurs.
