Aston Villa lead the race to sign Tammy Abraham

According to recent reports, Aston Villa are currently leading the race to sign Tammy Abraham from AS Roma in the upcoming summer transfer window. The 25-year-old striker has been in fine form at Roma this season. Aston Villa want to sign a new striker in the summer and they have set their eyes on AS Roma’s Tammy Abraham.

Abraham came through the youth ranks at Chelsea and enjoyed a successful loan spell at Aston Villa in the 2018/19 season, scoring 26 goals in 40 appearances as the club won promotion back to the Premier League. His performances earned him a place in the England squad for the UEFA Nations League finals in 2019.

Since moving to Roma in the summer of 2021, Abraham has found opportunities limited under manager José Mourinho, making just 16 appearances in all competitions. Aston Villa reportedly interested in bringing him back to the club.

Villa boss Unai Emery is known to be in the market for a new striker, with Ollie Watkins the only recognized options currently at his disposal. Abraham’s experience of playing in the Premier League and his familiarity with the club could make him an ideal addition to the squad.
