Arsenal set to sign Brighton’s Ben White for £50m

The Gunners have agreed to a deal in principle to sign Brighton’s Ben White.

A deal has been agreed between Arsenal and Brighton, believed to be worth around £50 million, to sign centre-back Ben White.

Sky Sports News reported Arsenal’s bid for £40 million was rejected in June, and another bid for £47 million was once again rejected. Despite the fact that talks have continued into July, there has been an agreement reached between the two Premier League clubs. Before the transfer can be finalized, there is still work to be done. When he returns from holiday on July 26, the 23-year-old is expected to undergo a medical exam.

White joined Brighton in 2014 after leaving Southampton, where he made his mark after loan spells at Newport County, Peterborough United, and Leeds United. His excellent performance as a defender in Brighton’s Premier League season last season impressed Brighton fans. He was selected by Gareth Southgate for the England squad for Euro 2020.

With the strongest defence in the bottom half of the league, he helped Brighton avoid relegation and finish 16th in the top flight (46 goals conceded). The Gunners won’t be playing in the Champions League for the first time since 1994-95 after finishing eighth in the Premier League and missing out on European competition.

Arsenal’s 2021/2022 Premier League season will begin on Saturday, August 14, at newcomers Brentford.
