
Chelsea Ace Willian has rejected a new contract at the Stamford Bridge as the reports suggests and is close to complete a move to join the city Rivals Arsenal for free as his contract at Chelsea has expired.
The Brazilian winger spent a total of 7 seasons at Chelsea making 234 primer league appearances and scoring 37 goals while helping the team to win 2 league titles an FA Cup, A Carabao cup and a Europa league triumph, The Winger Currently 28 year old was expecting a 3 year deal at his current club but the Chelsea chiefs only offered him a 2-year deal which he rejected.
It is believed Arsenal have had an edge to complete this move despite the interests of Clubs like Manchester United and Spurs to sign the player, It is understood Willian will be offered a 3 year deal with an option to extend his current contract. The Arsenal Coach Mikel Arteta is looking for some good attacking options in the market for a bargain in price with also Philipe Coutinho also under the Arsenal radar for a possible loan move from Barcelona.
The Chelsea Coach Frank Lampard remian coy on weather he would sign for the club or not following Clubs defeat to Arsenal in the FA Cup.
He said : “It is his decision, I haven’t got that answer. I know the situation at the club’s end.
“I have a great relationship with Willian, but I don’t actually know what the decision is.
“If that happens over the next whatever days, as he said, then that would be good for me in either way.
“Of course, I am very happy with Willian. He has been brilliant for me this season with his input and work ethic, within the squad.”
Adding a quality winger to the team would surely bolster the attacking option of Arsenal while the area of concern remains his wages which are at a staggering 240,000 euros which is not quiet sure Arsenal would be offering the player keeping in mind they have to sign Aubameyang a new deal with similar pay wages and Mesut Ozil who currently earns an astonishing 350,000 euros a week, Some way or another Arsenal will have to tackle the issue and find some common grounds to land Willian at Arsenal.
