
Arsenal has officially announced the signing of Gabriel Jesus. The Brazilian striker was signed for £45m from Manchester City. The deal is said to be a five-year contract and that will ensure his stay in the Emirates for a long time. Jesus was linked to Arsenal for quite a while now and finally, it has been done officially.
The 25-year-old had joined Manchester City back in 2017 and had wonderful seasons for them. During his time at Manchester City, he has won the prestigious Premier League 4 times, the League Cup 4 times and the FA Cup once. He has played a total of 236 matches for Manchester City over 5 years. In Premier League alone, out of 159 games, he has scored 58 goals and has assisted 32 times for City. He also made his international debut back in 2016 and has been a regular ever since then.
Gabriel Jesus is set to wear the legendary number 9 shirt for Arsenal. The previous number 9 for Arsenal as Alexandre Lacazette who left Arsenal as a free agent and left to join the French club, Lyon. Jesus had also been wearing the number 9 jersey at Manchester City during the last 3 seasons.
Jesus becomes Arsenal’s fourth signing this summer. Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta has been doing good business this summer. For sure with this signing, Arsenal would be a team to look out for in the upcoming Premier League season. The 25-year-old young Brazilian surely brings in champion mentality to the team and that is indeed a very key factor in this sport to win some trophies.
