Arsenal confident of securing new deal for Jurrien Timber

Arsenal are increasingly confident of tying down Jurrien Timber to a new long-term contract, with negotiations progressing positively between the club and the player’s representatives. The Dutch defender is reportedly eager to extend his stay at the Emirates, reflecting his commitment to Mikel Arteta’s project and the strong bond he has formed with the squad.

Talks are currently centred around improved salary terms, as the Gunners look to reward Timber for his impressive performances since recovering from his long-term injury last season. Arsenal view the 23-year-old as a key figure in their defensive setup, with his versatility, composure on the ball, and tactical intelligence making him a perfect fit for Arteta’s system.

Timber, who joined Arsenal from Ajax in the summer of 2023, endured a frustrating debut season after suffering an ACL injury on the opening day of the Premier League campaign. However, his determination and professionalism during rehabilitation earned widespread praise from the coaching staff. Since returning to full fitness, he has been rock solid at the back, contributing both defensively and in the build-up phase.
