The Club Licencing Committee of All India Football Federation come up with the decision to restrict the participation of Chennaiyin City FC in the upcoming I-League. “As Chennaiyin FC failed to act in accordance with most of the obligatory and essential AIFF club licencing regulation for the fourth upcoming Hero I-League 2021-22. Is reason behind AIFF’s licensing committee taking this tough deviation against this former winning club, not with stand giving the supplementary window after affirmation from the club including the conference call,” the statement come from the federation. The fixture of forthcoming I-League are not announced yet, but it will about to kick off in Kolkata from 26th of December. Now in this tournament team Kenkre FC, who finished I-League qualifiers with the second place , held in the October of 2021 in Bengaluru will come in the position of Chennaiyin FC as their replacement. The AIFF Emergency Committee has sanctioned the decision.
This is not yet the end of the bad news for the former winning team but beside that they are not allowed to sign players for their club, as AIFF inflict a FIFA transfer prohibited for them. In the 2018-19 of I-League Championship Chennaiyin City FC comfortably managed to take away the winning crown of this Championship from Minerva Punjab FC by beating them with the score of 3-1.
