A look at the La Liga table after Matchday 23

FC Barcelona, Getafe and Elche CF managed to gain important wins to move ahead on the table. Real Madrid stays on top.

Following Matchday 23, Real Madrid extended their lead at the top of the table with 53 points in 23 games followed by Sevilla FC in second having 47 points and Real Betis with 40.

Los Blancos gained 3 points against Granada FC where Marco Asensio netted at 74′. Table-topper’s rival FC Barcelona gains spot at number 4 after their important win against Atletico Madrid in a thriller at Camp Nou where the Blaugranes scored four goals and concluded two. The Visitors managed to have an early lead but Jordi Alba, Gavi and Ronald Araujo followed by Dani Alves goals powered Catalans to gain three crucial points. The opponents Atletico Madrid follow Barca being at fifth in 22 games having 36 points while Villarreal CF with just one point lesser at sixth on the table in 23 games sharing the same number of grades with Real Sociedad in 22 games.


Athletic Club on 8th in the table following their 2nd consecutive win with a score of 2-1 against Espanyol with 34 points followed by Rayo Vallecano and RC Celta making top 10 list.

Meanwhile, for Levante, Alaves and Cadiz, the weekend went not so good. All three teams lost their games with a five-point difference between Cadiz which is at 18th and Real Mallorca at 17th on the table.
