India’s Shubhankar Sharma is still on course to achieve a top 10 finish as he recorded a three-under 67 in the third round to position himself tied 9th at the Omega European Masters golf tournament. He scored a second eagle in the event which he put from 35 feet on the Par-5 ninth.

On a day when the conditions were cool and the wind was swirling, Sharma had three other birdies against two bogeys when scoring is usually tough under these conditions. His rounds went like 68-68-67 and are seven-under for 54 holes. USA’s Sean Crocker had a great six-under-par round of 64 to join Renato Paratore in a one-shot lead going into the final day of the tournament.

Sharma, who had finished T-9 at Cazoo Classic and T-16 at Hero Open said that he hasn’t done anything new in these last few weeks and has been working hard though it has not been the best of seasons for him. He added by saying that the last few weeks have shown promise for him and things seem to be coming together as he had followed his routine and processes better. He continued saying that he liked this course despite not cutting it the first time. He says he liked the course because it is his kind of course and has played well till nowhere.

On the third round, he said that nothing happened in the first six holes and missed a small putt on the 6th. On the 7th, the eagle putt was successful for him and continued saying that the 9th hole was good for him too as he hit 3-wood to 35 feet and holed the eagle. He was satisfied with his score of Overall 3-under but thought he may have missed a few shots.

As said above, there were tough conditions but Sean Crocker brought up the lowest score of the day as he recovered from a bogey on the first to record six birdies, an eagle and a further bogey to get to 10-under par. Renato Paratore scored an unlikely birdie from the 14th and with the help of a strong Italian presence led him to a 1-under 69. Matthew Jordan, alongside Ross McGowan and Spaniard Jorge Campillo, is one shot off the pace now.
