IND vs SA 2021 – India to playtest series against South Africa

With the start of the Boxing day test match between Australia and England, it also commences a series between India and South Africa. Without the services of Rohit Sharma, visitors have appointed KL Rahul as the vice-captain of the team.

Rahul has played for Punjab kings in the 2020 and 2021 seasons as a skipper. Meanwhile, Iyer has recently made his debut against New Zealand where he scored 202 runs in 2 tests. Shreyas Iyer is the only Indian player who scored a century and a half-century on his debut. In the IPL, Iyer guided Delhi Capitals to maiden playoffs in 2019 followed by finals in 2020.

Unfortunately, Iyer missed the first leg of the 2021 IPL season due to injury and returned to the second leg. Before the mega auction of IPL 2022, Delhi Capitals has released Shreyas Iyer. It will be interesting to watch out which franchise goes for Iyer with his talent.
