PM Narendra Modi praises Olympians in his Independence Day speech

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed Olympians during his speech on the occasion of Independence day at Red Fort.

Narendra Modi took the stage on the historic occasion of 75th Independence Day at Red Fort and was feeling proud of the Indian Athletes and was showering blessing and praises to the Olympians and requested the Nation to give them a huge round of applause for their achievements. India had their best performance in the History of the Olympics.

For the first time, India created their personal best by grabbing 7 Medals that include 1 Gold by Neeraj Chopra in Javelin Throw, 2 Silver by Mirabai Chanu (Weightlifting) and Ravi Kumar(Wrestling) and 4 Bronze medals by PV Sindhu(Badminton), Lovolina Borghain(Boxing), Bajrang Punia(Wrestling) and Indian Men’s Hockey Team.

“The athletes who have made us proud at the Tokyo Olympics are here among us today. I urge the nation to applaud their achievements today. They have not only won hearts but also inspired future generations” were the golden words by Narendra Modi while he took the attention of the crowd and nation towards India’s achievements in Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Around 240 Olympians were invited on the occasion and this was the first time that the athletes along with their support staff were invited on the auspicious occasion of Independence Day at Red Fort.
