Philippines boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao announces retirement from Boxing

Boxing legend Manny Pacquiao officially calls it to quit Boxing as he wants to focus on being the President for his country in the year 2022.

On Wednesday, the Boxing world and its fans are saddened to hear the news that Philippines superstar Manny Pacquiao has announced his retirement from Boxing officially after a legendary 26 years of career in the boxing ring. Pacquiao’s announcement comes a month after a unanimous decision loss to Cuban’s Yordenis Ugas for the World Boxing Association (WBA) super welterweight title match. He was one of the favourites to take away the championship as he is considered one of the best boxers in the world and the fans have ever noticed and seen stepping inside the boxing ring.

Fans were very emotional with the announcement of their favourite boxer taking his retirement from the sport. The fans around the world were in shock when the news was announced as they were truly inspired by his performance and the number of battles he’s ever stepped into the ring. They were mesmerised seeing his back story and his past which made fans cry in tears. In an interview with ESPN, Manny also thanked his manager and everyone who trained him and made him a global superstar as he mentioned: “I will never forget the one person who helped me, Rod Nazario, who was once my only supporting manager. Pacquiao also announced that he will be running for the position of Philippines presidency for the May 2022 elections. He ends his fantastic career with eight-division world championships, with a record of 62 knockouts, eight losses and two draws.

Manny Pacquiao himself announced his retirement from Boxing through an emotional social media post by mentioning “ To the greatest fans and the greatest sport in the world, thank you! Chase your dreams, work hard, and watch what happens. Goodbye Boxing.”
