Paralympics Games takes same lead of 2020 Tokyo Olympics with no allowance of audience this year

2020 Tokyo Paralympics games this year will be held without any fans due to the COVID-19 pandemic across the country.

Tokyo Paralympics games will take place in Japan as it was also done by Tokyo Olympics 2020 but without the fans to enter this year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The organisers of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics also conducted the 3-week event this year without any fans as it will be the same applied for the Tokyo Paralympics game this year.

A large number of the audience had gathered around Japan, only to know the news that there are restricted from entering this year due to COVID-19 protocols being taken care of by the entire team. There were a few exceptions and omissions made during the Olympic games as few fans secretly entered the stadium, therefore, violating the rules and regulations. The organising committee on Monday announced that all the fans around the world will be barred to enter the stadium this year.

Andrew Pearson, President of the International Paralympics Games Committee alongside the Olympic Committee President Seiko Hashimoto, Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike and Tamayo Murakawa, Olympic minister have all jointly made this decision for the safety and precautions of all the athletes participating this year. This year a total of 4,400 athletes will take part in this year Paralympic games, with many teams looking forward to winning this year. It comes with a huge blow as many cases are accelerating towards Japan as many athletes might get infected to it and left exposed. Pearson in his press conference told “In light of the current case numbers in Tokyo and wider Japan, everyone attending these games must be vigilant,” keeping the protocols and rules in consideration.

On Monday, Japan Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga was worried about the state’s current situation as the surge of infections reached an alarming reminder towards the entire city. He announced that the state will be under heavy restrictions till 12th September. On Saturday, the President of Tokyo Medical Association Dr Haruo Ozaki was also scared as there are a lot of people who haven’t been vaccinated yet this year subject to them becoming victims to COVID-19 this year, as it would ruin this year’s event. The former doctor, also claimed that fans shouldn’t be allowed as it would worsen the delta variant. He called conducting Paralympics year an “unnecessary” move made by the organizers as it turned out to be a political decision made jointly.

This year’s Paralympic Games 2020, will take place in Tokyo, Japan starting from August 24th and ends on September 5th.
