Batting sets up the win
It turned out to be a convincing result for Royal Challengers Bengaluru, who beat Chennai Super Kings by 43 runs. RCB posted 250/3 in 20 overs, before CSK were bowled out for 207 in 19.4 overs.
Sent in to bat on a slow surface, the first three overs produced no boundaries. Kohli led the early phase with 28 off 18 balls, including two fours and a six. After his dismissal, Phil Salt lifted the tempo, while Devdutt Padikkal added a steady half-century.
Late surge seals it
The innings accelerated sharply after Padikkal’s wicket. Tim David and Rajat Patidar dominated the closing overs. David remained unbeaten on 70 off 25 balls with eight sixes, while Patidar made 48 not out from 19 deliveries.
Their late hitting ensured a total beyond reach. CSK kept up for a while but fell short, as RCB continued their winning run this season.
