
Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat has appealed against her disqualification from the Paris Olympics 2024 with the CAS (court of arbitration for sports), as per the reports. Vinesh, who was disqualified earlier on Wednesday for being overweight has appealed that she should be award a silver medal. The CAS has asked till tomorrow morning to give its final verdict.

For the unversed, the Indian wrestler was scheduled to face USA’s Sarah Ann for Paris Olympics 2024 final on Wednesday. However, she was disqualified as she was found to be overweight by a few grams.
Ever since the news of her disqualification has emerged, the athlete has been trending on the social media. As per the reports, Indian Prime Narendra Modi has urged PT Usha to file for a strong protest in favor of Vinesh. The PM also penned a supportive message towards the athlete post the announcement of her disqualification.
