US President Joe Biden praises the American athletes for their outstanding performance at the Tokyo Olympics

Joe Biden along with the first lady Jill Biden spoke with the USA team on a Zoom call.

The USA Olympic team finished their tour of Tokyo 2020 at the first position in the Medal Tally by grabbing 112 medals  that consisted of 39 Gold medals 40 Silver medals and 33 Bronze medals. The country was proud of its exceptional performance.

President praised US Olympians for how they handled the difficult times of COVID-19 and with their “moral courage” that made the Americans proud of them. They spoke to the Athletes from their Home near Wilmington, Delaware. All the Athletes were invited to the White House to celebrate their victory and accomplishments.

Simone Biles the American gymnast also had a word with President and Biden praised her decision to withdraw from the event at the Tokyo Games to focus on her Mental Health. It was an important example as claimed by Biden and later she won the Bronze Medal in the Balance Beam Final. “You had the courage to say, I need some help, And you gave an example to everybody. And guess what, by the way, you got back up on that damned beam!” said Biden.

Biden also marked that he was heartened by how runner Isaiah Jewett carried himself and how it become tangled during the semifinal of the 800m heat. Jewett and Amos helped each other and put their arms to finish together 54 seconds after the Winner.

“You handled yourself with such grace and such decency, You made me so damn proud.” the president told the athletes as quoted by AP.
