Tokyo Paralympics: Bhavina Patel enters into women’s singles class 4 final defeating China’s Zhang Miao

Bhavina Patel has entered into the historic final after defeating Zhang Miao of China in the semifinal match of the women’s singles class 4 event.

Bhavina Patel has made it to the finals of the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics. The Indian para table tennis player is eyeing another gold medal, but this time in the Paralympic Games 2020. Bhavina defeated China’s Zhang Miao in the women’s singles class 4 semifinal match. She made a historic entry to the finals of the Paralympic table tennis game.

Bhavina Patel lost her first game on the group stage at the start of the Tokyo Paralympic Games. But she showed her maturity and calmed herself after getting the first defeat. After that match, she is back with a boom. She defeated Joyce de Oliveira in the round of 16 matches by 3-0 on Friday and advances herself to the quarter-finals. The girl from Mehsana, Gujrat also had a straight victory over Serbia’s Borislava Rankovic in the quarter-final match on Friday. The Serbian para table tennis player was the gold medalist in the Rio Paralympic games. Bhavina defeated her by 3-0 and qualified for the semifinals in the Women’s Singles Class 4 event.

Bhavina was scheduled to play with China’s Zhang Miao in the semifinals, however, the Indian table tennis player manages to beat her by 3-2. When Bhavina defeated Serbia’s Rankovic on Friday, she secured a medal for India. It will be her first medal in the Paralympic table tennis and also India’s first medal at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics.  Even if she loses the final match she will have a medal in her hand. But, the Indian Paddler is considered to be the favourite to win the finals as she defeated the Rio Paralympic table tennis gold medalist (Borislava Rankovic) in the quarter-finals.
