Tokyo Olympics: Haryana Government to give Rs 6 cr to javelin thrower gold medalist Neeraj Chopra & Rs 2.5 cr to wrestler Bajrang Punia

After Neeraj Chopra won the gold medal in Javelin throw on Saturday and Bajrang Punia won the bronze in freestyle wrestling, the Haryana government announced that they will give huge rewards to both. The government has also made a promise to provide Government jobs to both the winners of the Tokyo Olympics.

Two good news for India as javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra won the gold medal and wrestler Bajrang Punia won the bronze medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Haryana government has announced Rs 6 cr to the gold medalist Neeraj Chopra and Rs 2.5 cr to Bajrang Punia who won the bronze medal by beating Kazakhstan’s Daulet Niyazbekov in the men’s freestyle 65kg category. Not only Money but the Haryana government has also assured to give government jobs to both the athletes as they have made the Indians proud after winning in their respective games.

Neeraj Chopra came to be the first Indian to achieve a gold medal in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. He came first with a throw of 87.58 metres in the javelin competition. Neeraj Chopra became only the second Indian to win an individual gold medal at the Olympics. Abhinav Bindra was the first to do so.

Haryana government is very impressed with the gold medalist.

“We will be building a centre of Excellence for athletes in Panchkula, where he will be the head if he wants,” said Haryana CM ML Khattar.

Along with the government jobs to the athletes, ML Khattar has also promised to give them a plot at concessional rates. Khattar announced that the government will gift him (Neeraj Chopra) a government job, a plot, anywhere he wants in Haryana and a cash award of Rs. 6 cr.
