Tokyo Olympics: Aditi Ashok keeps hopes high for a medal hunt in Golf as she clears the 3rd round of Women’s individual event

Aditi Ashok is still in the race for the medal hunt with her great performance. She continues with her consistent performance in the event.

Arjuna Awardee Aditi Ashok is keeping the hopes high for getting the first-ever medal for India in Golf and create history. She made her Olympic debut in Rio 2016 and this is her second Olympic event. Diksha Dagar the other Indian Golfer shared 53rd place on six over 148.

Aditi Ashok rolled in five birdies, which included three in her last four holes at the Kasumigaseki Country Club to tie at the second position with N. Madsen and E.Pedesen both from Denmark in the second round. Aditi has her mother, Maheshwari as her caddie, is behind World No. 1 Nelly Korda of the USA by four shots.

Aditi consistently maintained her position for the Indian medal in golf with birdies on Hole NO.s 2, 5, 15, 17 and 18.

“The last three holes, I had a couple of shots that were just a good number for me and I hadn’t really had any short approaches all day, maybe just a couple,” said Aditi as quoted by PTI.

The competition was reduced to 54 holes due to thunderstorms and to grab the medal she needs to keep her head high towards a historic medal on the Indian podium.
