
Another award in Neeraj Chopra’s collection as the Tokyo Olympics Gold Medalist will be awarded the Param Vishisht Seva Medal.
Neeraj Chopra is a Subedar in the Indian army. He enrolled in four Rajputana Rifles as a direct entry to Naib Subedar in 2016. He was selected for training at the Mission Olympic Wing and Army Sports Institute in Pune.
Harayan Government will see it as a life-size replica of Neeraj Chopra in the form of Tableau during the 2022 Republic day parade.
A total of ten Olympians will be a part of the tableau according to the Directortae of Information, Public Relations, and Languages Department.
In the Tokyo Olympics 2021, Neeraj Chopra won the gold medal for India at the Javelin throw event. With this victory, he has become the second Indian individual to win Olympic gold after Abhinav Bindra.
The 24-year-old not only made history with this epic win at the Tokyo Olympics but also satisfied the Flying Sikh, Milkha Singh’s wish to see India bringing the biggest laurels back at the enormous event in track and field.
He has previously also been awarded the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award for Athletics in 2021 and Arjuna Award for Athletics in 2018.
