Indian shooter Arjun Babuta has advanced to the final of the men’s 10m air rifle event at the Paris Olympics, securing his place with a score of 630.1 points in the qualifying round. Babuta finished in 7th position, ensuring his spot in the medal event scheduled for Monday, July 29, at 3:30 PM.
Babuta’s qualification marks a significant achievement for India in shooting sports. He started strong with 105.7 points and a best shot of 10.8, maintaining a top 8 position throughout the competition. Although he faced challenges, particularly in the second and fifth series, Babuta managed to regain his form, ultimately securing his position in the final with a steady final series score of 104.6.
Unfortunately, Sandeep Singh, another Indian competitor, finished 12th with 629.3 points and did not make it to the finals. Babuta’s consistent performance keeps India hopeful for another medal in the shooting events at these Olympics.
