The Executive Board (EC) of International Olympic Committee (IOC) issued a statement saying that only people who have essential operational roles at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 will be given approvals.
This will help reduce the number of accredited people at the Game. Implementation will be done by diminishing the number of programmes, which will include the IOC Guest Programme as well.
During the Five-Parties meeting which was held on March 20, the IOC and the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) were confronted with the cessation of their Japanese partners not to allow overseas observers at the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020 this summer.
This is a major step towards organising a safe and secure Games for everyone.
As a follow-up process, these conclusions were put forth to the National Olympic Committees (NOC) and all the international Federations (IF)
