A talented squad of young badminton players will be looking for the prestigious win this year as fans all around the world are excited to see the impact of the new generation of Indian players throughout the tournament. The Sudirman Cup starts on Sunday.
This year, India has been drawn within several tough teams like defending champions China, three-time runner-up Thailand, and the hosts Finland for the BWF (Badminton World Federation) match. The tie will consist of two singles matches and three doubles matches to determine the knockout stage, in Finland this year.
The Indian crew and their supporting coaches are very excited to show their talent at the highest level throughout the Sudirman Cup. There will be many eye-catching moments within these new players as she will try their level best to achieve success and make our nation once again. The talented players with the likes of Malvika Bansod and Aditi Bhatt will have a huge responsibility on their shoulders as they will represent the girl’s single badminton matches.
For the doubles badminton matches, youngsters Dhruv Kapila and MR Arjun will replace the No 10 seed Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy in the Sudirman Cup this year. The highest scores from the two groups will play a special quarter-final match, which will be done by a quarter-final draw just after the group stage games. India finished in the quarter-finals back in the year 2011, as they look to lift the cup this year.
