The Boston Celtics paid a visit to FTX Arena, and the Miami Heat were anticipated to continue their excellent record. Jimmy Butler has been terrific thus far this season, displaying scoring prowess that is quite comparable to what he had in 2020. He became the game’s leading scorer tonight, but he wasn’t anticipating an organized Celtics squad. Throughout the evening, six Boston players scored in double figures, with Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown leading the way.
Robert Williams, who had 10 rebounds to assist his team beat the Heat, was a key defensive player for the Celtics. With 8 rebounds, Jayson Tatum wasn’t far behind. Al Horford also had a strong showing, grabbing 7 rebounds in his 29 minutes on the court. Brown led Boston in scoring with 17 points, but the Celtics’ total team effort was noticeable in Miami.
The third quarter was crucial for the Celtics, as they dominated with a 33-9 score to leave the scoreboard at halftime with a surprise 51-43 score. Butler knew his teammates needed to step up their game in the second half, but the Celtics defence kept important Heat players like Tyler Herro and Kyle Lowry on a tight leash. Throughout the entire game, they only managed to score 6 points each. Despite playing 32 minutes towards the end of the game, P.J. Tucker only scored three points.
The Celtics return to form with this win, defeating one of the East’s top contenders and improving to a 4-5 record. The Heat dropped their second game of the season, dropping to 6-2 on the season. The Heat will play the Utah Jazz at home next. Meanwhile, the Celtics will go to Dallas to face Luka Doncic’s Mavericks.
