Steph Curry becomes first player to make 3100+ 3 pointers

Steph’s 3100th 3 pointers were overshadowed by LeBron’s performance but he did make history today.

Steph Curry is considered one of the greatest 3 point shooters of all time. He broke the 3 point record set by Ray Allen this season. Ever since then every 3 pointer Steph makes sets a new record. Today he became the first person to make 3100 threes in NBA history. Unfortunately, the feat went unnoticed because the Warriors lost the game and LeBron James scored 56 points against them.

Steph has made 3101 3 pointers till now and will only continue to add to it. Steph had 30 points in the loss against the Warriors and made 4 3 pointers after attempting 9. His performance should have led the Warriors to victory against a struggling Lakers team, especially because he had 4 other teammates with double-digit scoring. Unfortunately, LeBron chose to take over the Crypto.com arena on the same day he became the first to have 3100 3 pointers.

Steph is setting these records in a season where he is having the worst shooting slump of his career. He is shooting only 37.8 % from 3 point range which is the worst in his career. He has never shot below 40% from beyond the 3 point arc except in the 2019-2020 season when he got injured after just 5 games in the season.

He was at the top of the MVP conversation along with Kevin Durant at the beginning of the season but fell off after he broke the 3 point record at Madison Square Garden. He seems to be getting back to being himself and is shooting much better over the last few games. A major reason for his slump and the team’s slump as well as the absence of forwarding is Draymond Green.

Steph Curry is the greatest shooter in the history of the game. From this first milestone of 3100 3 pointers, he is only going to keep setting new records. We are lucky to witness the journey of the greatest shooter ever.
