OFFICIAL: Chris Paul joins Phoenix Suns from Oklahoma City Thunder

Phoenix Suns have completed the trade of acquiring veteran Point Guard Chris Paul from Oklahoma City Thunder (OKC). The trade sees forward Abdel Nader also joining the Suns, while Thunder receive Kelly Oubre Jr, Ricky Rubio, Ty Jerome, Jalen Lecque and a 2022 first-round pick from the Suns.

There were rumours of Chris Paul joining his friend LeBron James at the Los Angeles Lakers earlier this year, but instead CP3 has ended up joining All-Star Point Guard Kevin Booker at Phoenix.

The Suns almost qualified for the playoffs, by going 8-0 in the bubble but ultimately fell short of grabbing the 8th seed. The acquisition of an established professional like Chris Paul will give the organization a boost to qualify for the playoffs the upcoming season.

This trade further weakens OKC, as they are on the verge of losing Denis Schroder to the LA Lakers.
