Players and general managers of the NBA are expected to talk to the media and answer questions whenever a training camp starts. Irving refused talking to the media or the media reporters several times since the camp started on December 1.
As a result, both Kyrie Irving and the Brooklyn Nets have received a fine of 25 thousand dollars each for failing to observe the league’s media rules.
The NBA in a statement regarding the fine said, “The fines result from Irving’s refusal on several occasions this week to participate in the team media availability.”
