LeBron James’ 56 points powers Lakers to victory against Warriors

LeBron scored a career high as a Laker to lead the Lakers to victory against a very good Golden State Warriors team.

LeBron James put on a show in the Crypto.com arena today and scored the most points in his career as a Laker. The Lakers were coming off a 4 game losing streak and desperately needed the win. Lakers legend Magic Johnson said that the game was a must-win for the Lakers before they go on the road. The boos for the Lakers finally turned to cheers as they beat the Golden State Warriors 124-116.

The Warriors have also been struggling ever since they lost Draymond Green. The team has now lost 7 out of the last 10 games that they played. But no one thought the Lakers would win this game. The Lakers have been playing like trash this season and came into this game after losing 4 in a row. Well, what we forgot was that the King – LeBron James is a part of the Lakers team.

LeBron came out guns blazing and had 26 points in the first half. Now every game the Lakers play they do make it a close game at the end of the 1st half but break down in the second half and lose the game. This time LeBron made sure that wasn’t going to happen. After he scored 26 in the first half he went on to score 30 points in the second half and 16 points in the 4th quarter.

LeBron ended up with 56 points and joined Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, and Jamal Crawford as the only players 37 years old or more to score 50+ points. He had help from Westbrook as well who had 20 points in the game. Other double-digit scorers for the Lakers were Austin Reeves – 10 points, Carmelo Anthony – 14 points and 8 rebounds, and Malik Monk – 12 points.

There is still cause for concern with the Lakers. It is crazy to expect LeBron to have 50 points every night. It isn’t realistic to ask a 37-year-old man to produce at that high of a level. The Lakers have to step up and support their leader. LeBron has been putting up MVP numbers but it counts for nothing because his team doesn’t win. The Lakers better figure it out because playing like this is a disservice to what LeBron is doing for them.
