Lakers part ways with head coach Frank Vogel

LA Lakers won the 2020 championships under the management of Vogel and were a heavy favourite at this season’s Western Conference.

As the final regular season ends for the Los Angeles Lakers, head coach Frank Vogel’s journey also ended after spending three seasons with the 17-times NBA Champions. Vogel gets fired by the team announced on Monday.

LA Lakers won the 2020 championships under the management of Vogel and were a heavy favourite at this season’s Western Conference but it didn’t happen how it was supposed to be. 11th in the Western Conference Lakers couldn’t even qualify for the Play-In Tournament in the 2021-22 season. The team were, on Tuesday, we’re officially eliminated from fighting in the Playoffs tournament with a 33-49 win-loss record.

Lakers’ had their one of the key players Anthony Davis sidelined most of the time while LeBron James was also ruled out at the end taking his chances of winning the scoring title won by the Philadelphia 76ers’ Joel Embiid. To contend for it, LeBron needed to play at least 56 games while he played 2 lesser.

Russell Westbrook, the two time MVP champion was also blamed for the downfall of the Lakers and now Vogel is paying the price of the failure by being removed as a head coach of the team that went struggling throughout the season. According to CBS NBA, the Lakers will be going forward in search of their sixth full-time head coach since Phil Jackson retired in the year 2011.
