Lakers have now lost 7 straight games to Clippers

It is OVER. The Lakers get blown out by the Clippers and lose 7 straight games to them.

The Los Angeles Lakers put on a disappointing performance once again. They got destroyed by their so-called ‘Little Brothers’, the Los Angeles Clippers, 132-111. The Lakers have now lost 7 straight to the Clippers and 4 straight games overall. It has been a pathetic run from one of the most storied and historic franchises in the NBA.

The Lakers have the oldest roster in the NBA right now and it has begun to affect the team. The Lakers cannot maintain the energy they play with throughout the game. In this particular game, the Lakers made a 14-0 run to bring the game to within 3 points at the end of the first half. But just like they came back they fell back down again in the 3rd quarter where they were outscored by close to 30 points in the quarter.

Then it was all downhill with Reggie Jackson (36 points and 9 assists) humiliating the enter Lakers Squad and scoring at will. The Clippers had 5 other players with double-digit scoring. The Lakers did have 5 players in double digits and were led by LeBron who had 26 points. But it wasn’t enough to offset what Reggie Jackson was doing to the Lakers.

The most important thing to remember is that the Clippers handed this thrashing to the Lakers without 2 of their superstars Kawhi Leonard and Paul George out of action. They also have Norman Powell sidelined due to injury which will be an important piece on the defensive end for them. When they return, the Clippers are going to be a force to be reckoned with.

In the Lakers case, it is over. All they can do is look forward to having a better season next year. It is pathetic that you lose to the Clippers in 7 straight games and are 9th in the West with all this talent on the team. The front office messed up with the roster-building, the coaching staff cannot figure out a system to have them be successful and the players lack accountability. In the end, all I can say is pray and hope for the best Lakers fans.
