Lakers fans finally have something to cheer about, after many losses in the resume of newly formed Lakers they were finally able to get a win with everyone stepping up to close out a close game at the Staples Center by 121-118.
1st half was all about Russel Westbrook who was struggling since he joined the Lakers, he was finally able to find his rhythm at least from a passing perspective as he stacked 9 assists in just the first half and then went on a scoring spree of scoring 9 straight points to end the first half. LeBron struggled tonight with his sloppy passes and AD also looked out of rhythm with his shooting.
Carmelo Anthony stepped it up for the Lakers in the 2nd half, he was everywhere on the floor for the Lakers, whenever Lakers needed a bucket Carmelo provided it, with his 6/9 shooting from the three, 10/15 from the floor, and leading the Lakers in scoring by 28 points, he turned back the clock to the prime Melo and achieved himself another milestone of passing the great former MVP Moses Malone in scoring list. Lakers were able to outlast the Grizzlies in a late-game free throw contest with Ja Morant who scored 40 points missed a free throw to tie the game. Ja will be a problem in the league in the coming year his ability to score and pass as he stacked up 10 assists makes him a threat for the league in upcoming years. LeBron and AD scored 19 and 22 points respectively, Westbrook led the game with 13 assists.
