Finally for the Lakers’ things have started to click on the offence and defence after blowing a 26 point lead against the 0-4 OKC and ultimately losing the game, they came right back up to win back-to-back games against Cleveland and now Rockets.
Lakers finally played the lineup that was more suitable to today’s NBA, with Westbrook and LeBron on the floor there is very little shooting thus their cheat code Anthony Davis has to play the 5 to open up the floor for the two driving forces. AD who started at the centre instead of Deandre Jordan grabbed 13 boards and his ability to stretch the floor was visible as LeBron and Westbrook finally had some breathing space inside the paint to make plays as they both stacked up 17 assists in total.
Frank Vogel’s defensive system clamped the Rockets in the 3rd quarter and caused 26 total turnovers on which the Lakers capitalized to the best of their abilities. Carmelo Anthony has been on a scoring spree and shooting the lights out from the three-point line. He led the Lakers in scoring with 23 points on just 14 shots going 5 of 8 from behind the arc. LeBron had an off night scoring only 15 points on an abysmal 6 of 19 shooting which is very unlike James as he has been one of the most efficient players in the NBA. Westbrook scored 20 points near triple-double but took 22 shots to get there. AD also scored only 16 points on just 7 of 17 shooting. Lakers will again go against the Rockets on Wednesday at 8:00 AM IST.
