Lakers’ Anthony Davis & Westbrook score 30+ to secure a win against Spurs in thrilling overtime

LeBron was out for the game against the San Antonio Spurs due to ankle soreness, yet the Lakers were able to run away with a win in overtime thanks to AD and Russ spectacular performance.

Lakers got their 2nd win of the season with Russ’s coming out party, Russel Westbrook with LeBron out of the lineup was in full effect. He controlled the ball, he also had a good shooting night. The Lakers were down by 12 points in the 4th quarter, but LeBron-less Lakers with the other 4 players out of the lineup due to injury, AD and Russ picked up the slack offensively. The Lakers rallied from the 4th quarter to Overtime to win by 125-121.

Westbrook and AD dominated the paint combining 68 points but the defensive woes for the Lakers continue as they were yet again could not guard the perimeter defence and pick’n’roll of Spurs.

Westbrook was finally himself with James out of the lineup he took advantage of the open floor and penetrated inside the paint and whenever he got a chance he kicked it out to an open shooter. He stacked up 33 points, 10 rebounds, and 8 assists, with a monstrous dunk in the overtime.

AD, though he struggled with his jump shot throughout the game, he was able to get it done in the 4th quarter and overtime. His defensive presence in the paint allowed him to get 4 blocks with 35 points and 17 rebounds. He nearly gave the fans a heart attack when he went down late in the 4th quarter holding his right knee and was seen in immense pain. Looking at his injury history it looked bad but he got up and played the entire game, hopefully, it is not something serious.
