Kyrie Irving put on a show in Orlando putting up a 60 point masterpiece. The superstar led the Nets to a 150-108 blowout of the Orlando Magic. Now the Magic are the worst team in the Eastern Conference. They have the second-worst record in the entire league. But putting up 60 points isn’t easy against any team. The game comes after Kyrie put up 50 points against the Charlotte Hornets a few days back.
Kyrie started the game hot! He had 41 points in the first half. Teammate Kevin Durant in his postgame said that the team knew then that Kyrie was going to have a high scoring night. Kyrie was efficient from the field as well and put up 31 shots and made 20 of them. He also shot 8 of 12 3 pointers and just missed one free throw from his 13 trips to the free-throw line.
Coach Steve Nash also heaped praise on Kyrie’s performance. “Felt like he had my career highlight reel the first 12 minutes of the game,” Nash shared”, per Dave Early of ClutchPoints. Kyrie had his performance after his fellow New Jersey native Karl Anthony Towns put up 60 points for the Minnesota Timberwolves yesterday. It was the first back-to-back 60 point game performance in league history since Wilt Chamberlain scored back-to-back 60 point games himself in 1962.
When asked about what you tell az player that is in the zone like Kyrie was, Nash responded by saying you don’t. You let the player do what he does,
"You don't want to say much to him. You let him do his thing. It's not a time to fill his head with things. Let him play, let him stay in the zone."

But like every good story, there is another side. In this case, it is the fact that we cannot see Kyrie have performances like this in the city of New York. The vaccine mandates that still stand today do not allow Kyrie to play in New York because he is unvaccinated. While we can witness his greatness, the fact that it is taken away from us in half the games, because of law is painful for basketball fans around the world.
