Giannis Antetokounmpo dominates the Indiana Pacers, drops 50 points

The 2-time MVP dropped 50 to lead the Milwaukee Bucks to victory.

Giannis Antetokounmpo had his best game this season. The Greek Freak dropped  50 points against the Pacers and led the Bucks to victory. The win comes following a loss to the Portland Trailblazers. Giannis did not play in that game but made up for it with a great performance today. The reigning finals MVP and champion had 50 points,14 rebounds, and 4 assists. The Bucks superstar logged the 4th fewest shot attempts in a 50 point game in NBA history.

The Bucks had 3 other players with double-digit scoring to help out the former MVP. Khris Middleton had 19 points and 8 assists, Jrue Holiday had 14 points and 8 assists and Lindell Winnington had 12 points. While Bobby Portis, who has been huge for the Bucks this season with Brook Lopez being out (back injury), did not put up points he was huge on the boards and had 14 rebounds in the game.

The Kings had 6 players with double-digit scoring, including a 36 point performance from former Sacramento Kings guard Buddy Hield. Tyrese Haliburton who was traded from the Kings as well had 17 points and 8 assists. Even with pretty good team performance, the 50 points from Giannis was too much to overcome and the Pacers fell to the Bucks, 119-128.

The 1st half ended with the scores being pretty close. The Bucks lead 69-63, ending the half with a 6 point lead. But the Pacers did not know that the Greek Freak was only getting started. Giannis only had 18 points in the 1st half and scored 32 of his 50 points in the 2nd half. He scored 13 points in the 3rd quarter and 19 in the 4th. It was flat-out domination from the 6 times All-star.

The Pacers have struggled throughout the season and are in 13th place in the East. With the Eastern conference being extremely competitive this season, there is almost no chance the Pacers make the play-in game even if they win all the games they have left. The team has made some good moves at the trade deadline and will have to look to rebuild around Tyrese Haliburton.

With the win, the Bucks move up a spot and are the 3 seed in the East. With the top of the East being extremely close anyone could end up as the 1 seed at the end of the regular season. The Bucks have been the favourite to come out of the East for most people. But with teams like the Heat getting better, the Bulls looking good, the rise of the Cavaliers, the 76ers getting James Harden and Brooklyn getting Kevin Durant back, there is no telling who could end up on top. All I know is it is going to be a great battle in the East and the Playoffs this season will be one of the best we have ever seen.
