DeMar DeRozan joined NBA legends and became a part of an elite list as the only people to score 35+points in 8 consecutive games. DeRozan became the 7th player in NBA history to record that stat. The other NBA legends on that list are Wilt Chamberlain, Elgin Baylor, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, and James Harden.
DeRozan had an amazing game against the Hawks scoring 37 points on 71.4% shooting. He had 12 points in the 4th quarter and hit the game-winning shot for the Bulls. The Bulls superstar is having one of his best seasons this year and is shooting 51.7% from the field. He was assisted with a 20 point performance from Zach Lavine and a 12 point, 10 rebound game from Nikola Vucevic.
DeRozan recently broke Wilt Chamberlain’s record for most consecutive 35+ point games on 50% shooting. Well, now he is on the path to breaking the Bulls record for most consecutive 35+ point games which is held by Michael Jordan. DeRozan is just 2 games away from tying Michael Jordan’s record of 10 straight games with 35+ points and 3 games away from breaking it.
DeMar has put himself at the top of the MVP conversation along with Giannis Antetokounmpo and Joel Embiid. The Bulls superstar is averaging 28.1 points, 5.1assists, and 5.2 rebounds this season. He has also led the Chicago Bulls to the 1 seed in the east and most games were won with the Bulls’ main players out of action throughout the season.
DeMar DeRozan was forgotten by many after the trade made by the Toronto Raptors for Kawhi Leonard. He was traded to the San Antonio Spurs, did not play at a superstar level and Toronto won the championship after trading him. Well, now he is putting the entire league on notice. He has brought back Chicago basketball and is letting the world know how great he is.
