India’s top shooter, Manu Bhaker, was awarded the country’s first Tata Curvv EV SUV, courtesy of Tata Motors. The presentation occurred on World EV Day, recognizing Bhaker’s outstanding achievements at the Paris Olympics 2024.
The 22-year-old athlete secured two bronze medals in the women’s 10m Air Pistol and mixed team 10m Air Pistol events. The handover took place at Tata Motors’ first EV-exclusive store, Tata.ev Store, in Sector 14, Gurugram.
The Tata Curvv EV, which debuted in August, is priced between ₹17.49 lakh and ₹21.99 lakh. It features two battery options: a 45 kWh pack offering a range of 430 km and a 55 kWh pack with a range of 502 km. Key specifications include 18-inch wheels, 190 mm ground clearance, and a 500-litre boot space. The SUV can reach a top speed of 160 kmph and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.6 seconds. It also supports a 1.2C charging rate, providing 150 km of range with just 15 minutes of charging.
Safety features include six airbags, electronic stability control, all-wheel disc brakes, and Level 2 ADAS. The interiors are available in grey and black, while the petrol and diesel variants feature burgundy interiors.
Manu Bhaker, who has also won gold and silver at World Championships, continues to make her mark as one of India’s most celebrated Olympians, joining PV Sindhu as the only Indian female Olympian with multiple medals.
