The news was reported by NBA insider Shams Charania on X, highlighting Hawkins’ decision to transfer to Kansas State and the substantial NIL deal associated with his move.

Standing at 6-foot-10, Coleman Hawkins brings a formidable presence to the Wildcats’ frontcourt. During his time at Illinois, Hawkins emerged as a versatile player, particularly shining in the 2023-24 season. He averaged impressive stats across the board, including 12.1 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.1 blocks per game. These performances earned him All-Big Ten honors, reflecting his pivotal role in Illinois’ basketball program.

In addition to his statistical achievements, Hawkins started in every game for the Illini last season and showcased marked improvements in shooting efficiency. He recorded career-highs in field-goal percentage (45.6%), three-point shooting (39.6%), and free-throw accuracy (79.2%), underscoring his proficiency in various aspects of the game.
