Jets’ Aaron Rodgers Returns to America

The New York Jets’ future Hall-of-Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers is back stateside and already reuniting with old pals. The 40-year-old signal-caller raised eyebrows by skipping the Jets’ June mandatory minicamp to attend what head coach Robert Saleh described as “an event that was very important to him.” While Rodgers’ exact location was a mystery, whispers suggested he was on an international adventure.

Enter Marquez Valdes-Scantling, former Green Bay Packers wide receiver, to shed some light on Rodgers’ whereabouts. Appearing on Thursday’s edition of The Herd, Valdes-Scantling revealed to host Jason McIntyre that he had been working out with Rodgers just the day before.

“Me and Aaron have been great friends since my days in Green Bay. I told him I was coming out to L.A. and suggested we run some routes. We hit up a local high school and got some good work in,” said Valdes-Scantling, now with the Buffalo Bills.

Then, McIntyre spilled the beans on Rodgers’ recent travels. “So, all the New York media can stand down. Aaron Rodgers is back from Egypt. It’s no longer a secret, and he’s hanging out with MVS,” McIntyre announced.

Rodgers had been a full participant in Jets’ OTA practices this past spring, working his way back from the torn Achilles that cut his 2023 season short. Before training camp kicks off, Rodgers is expected to make his annual pilgrimage to Lake Tahoe for the American Century Championship, a celebrity golf tournament running from July 10-14 at Edgewood Tahoe. Rodgers impressed last year, finishing fifth overall on the individual leaderboard.

In summary, while Rodgers may have stirred the pot with his minicamp absence, he’s back in action, reconnecting with old teammates and gearing up for both football and golf season. The New York media can rest easy—for now.
