Indian Women’s hockey team lost to Argentina by 2-3

The Indian Women’s hockey team lost against world No. 2 Argentina at their home ground. India got the opportunity to knock out Argentina from the game as they got a 1-2 lead before the final quarter of the match but a comeback and two back-to-back goals in the last quarter by Argentina couldn’t let India change the circumstances and the visitors lost the match by 2-3.

India got the early lead with Sharmila’s equalizer and a leading goal by Gurjit Kaur in the 40th minute. The 2-1 lead couldn’t last long and the experienced and tough Argentinian side made a comeback in the final quarter with the help of the 50th and 56th minutes goal by Augustina Gorzelany and Grannato Maria respectively.
