India makes a comfortable entry into the semi-finals, beats Belgium 1-0

Indian Men’s Junior Hockey team made it to the semi-finals after beating Belgium with 1-0 in their quarterfinal match in FIH Odisha Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup Bhubaneswar 2021, held at Kaling Stadium.

Indian Junior Hockey Team including France, Argentina and Germany secured their positions into the Semi-Finals of FIH Odisha Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup 2021.

Team India, who is known as the defending champions well-defended their opponent on the field of Kaling Stadium today in their quarterfinals. They today faced European giants Belgium and defeated them with a reclusive goal on them and lead the scoreline at 1-0. Team India made a fantastic win over the junior red lions with the brilliant goal made though out of the first penalty corner in their favour. Sharad Nand Tiwari was the one behind this, who broke the deadlock by converting their first advantage (penalty) into a winning goal at the 21st minute of the match. In the 27th minute, Belgium also get a chance by winning their first penalty corner of the game but as the shot stayed away from the goalpost, they lost the chance to convert the first penalty corner into a goal in their favour. The first half get to an end and the scoreline stayed still at 1-0. After the start of the second half at 52-minute Belgium won their second change of penalty corner. As the Indian player Yashdeep got a yellow card and was out of the game for the next five minutes. But still, the defence of team India remain to stand tall and strong to keep the Belgium attack out of the goalpost. The last two minutes of the match was yet to be over and Belgium earned their third penalty corner. At that dying moment of the game, an excellent save appears from Pawan, the keeper of team India on Belgium’s goal.
