The highest-paid athletes of the year 2022 are revealed. According to Sportico, Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James tops the list with $127 Million followed by Paris Saint-Germain’s Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in third.

Talking about different sports, LeBron James tops the basketball list, Messi in football, 20-times Grand Slam champion Roger Federer in tennis, Tiger Woods in Golf, Lewis Hamilton in Formula 1, Conor McGregor in UFC and Virat Kohli in Cricket.

LeBron’s Lakers had a very struggling year where the franchise couldn’t even make it to the Play-In Tournament, Playoffs were too far. The 17-times NBA Championships winners struggled throughout the season that ended up scoring their head coach Frank Vogel. Meanwhile, the 18-time All-Star amassed $127 million in his past 12 months with the Lakers as well as his expanding off-court sphere as the Sportico estimated.

The top 100 list of the highest-paid athletes includes players from 10 different sports where they made it to the list by their salary, prize money and endorsements collectively.

In women’s four times Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka tops the highest-paid list once again at $53.2 million. The former World No. 1 player from Japan is at No. 20 on the overall list. The 2022 Miami Open finalist Osaka was sidelined following injuries and a break from tennis that limited her earnings on the court but she managed to be the highest-paid through her more than 20 endorsement partners.
