As Formula 1 heads toward the landmark 2026 rules overhaul, teams have begun locking in their launch plans for what is being called the biggest regulatory reset the sport has ever seen. With both engine and chassis rules changing simultaneously, the new era brings unprecedented curiosity around how the next generation of cars will look and perform.
Red Bull & Racing Bulls: January 15 (livery only)
Red Bull and sister team Racing Bulls were the first to confirm their plans for 2026. Both teams will unveil their new liveries on January 15 in Detroit, at an event hosted along with Ford Racing, their power unit partner for 2026 under the Red Bull Powertrains–Ford collaboration.
However, the announcement makes it clear that only the paint schemes will be shown. The actual RB and VCARB 2026 car designs — built to the new ground-breaking regulations — will not be revealed at this event.
Aston Martin: February 9
Aston Martin became the first team to announce the full 2026 car launch date, confirming that the AMR26 — designed under the influence of Adrian Newey and powered by Honda — will be revealed on February 9.
The timing is notable, coming just 10 days after the first private 2026 on-track running at Barcelona (January 26–30), where teams will begin gathering initial performance data behind closed doors.
More teams expected to announce soon
With the 2026 season representing one of the most dramatic technical resets ever seen in Formula 1, teams are expected to roll out their launch schedules in the coming weeks.
