Red Bull Team Principal Christian Horner has emphasized the importance of maintaining a competitive rather than friendly relationship with Mercedes counterpart Toto Wolff due to their intense Formula 1 rivalry.
In a recent interview, Horner took a dig at Wolff, referring to his past outbursts that resulted in the destruction of headphones. Despite acknowledging Wolff’s accomplishments, Horner believes it would be dishonest to foster a close friendship with a rival.
He emphasized the need for his team to perceive their competitors as adversaries, promoting a united front within Red Bull.
The rivalry between Red Bull and Mercedes intensified during the 2021 season but has been subdued recently with Red Bull’s dominance in F1.
