Lando Norris delivered a stunning lap in treacherous conditions to grab pole position for the Las Vegas Grand Prix, clocking an impressive 1:47.934 in Q3. The McLaren driver mastered a damp and tricky circuit to finish three-tenths clear of championship leader Max Verstappen, who will start P2.

Carlos Sainz, driving for Williams, produced one of the surprises of the session by qualifying P3, just +0.362 off Norris. The Spaniard—already under investigation for an unsafe rejoin in Q1—starts from a strong position heading into Sunday.

Mercedes’ George Russell ended the session in P4, nearly nine-tenths behind the pace-setter, while Oscar Piastri claimed P5 in the second McLaren after missing out on the front row by just over a second.

Further down the top ten, Liam Lawson impressed with P6, followed by Fernando Alonso in P7, keeping Aston Martin in the mix. Isack Hadjar, making waves again in his rookie F1 season, secured P8 for Red Bull’s sister team.

Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc could only manage P9, nearly two seconds off pole, while Pierre Gasly completed the top ten, struggling in wet conditions and finishing +3.606 behind Norris.
