A chaotic, rain-affected qualifying session in Las Vegas delivered one of the most dramatic grids of the 2025 Formula 1 season. With drivers battling extremely slippery conditions and standing water across the strip-side circuit, several big names struggled while others produced career-defining laps.

Championship leader Lando Norris mastered the conditions with a sensational final push lap to take pole position, finishing ahead of Max Verstappen and Carlos Sainz, who delivered a stunning performance to qualify P3 for Williams despite being under investigation for the way he rejoined the track earlier in Q1.

The hour also featured multiple major moments. Alex Albon was the only driver to hit the wall, while Lewis Hamilton ended a confusing Q1 in last place after appearing to abort his lap and finishing P20. Both Mercedes drivers are also set to be reviewed over concerns involving their setup sheets.

Behind Sainz, George Russell secured P4, followed by Oscar Piastri, who lost time in traffic late in Q3. Liam Lawson lines up P6, with Fernando Alonso and rookie Isack Hadjar forming the fourth row. Rounding out the top ten are Charles Leclerc and Pierre Gasly.

Further back, Nico Hulkenberg leads the midfield starters in P11, followed by Lance Stroll, whose bold switch to intermediates failed to pay off in Q2. Esteban Ocon and Oliver Bearman will form an all-Haas Row 7, while Franco Colapinto, Alex Albon, Kimi Antonelli, Gabriel Bortoleto, Yuki Tsunoda, and Lewis Hamilton complete the grid.
