Inter Milan’s search for a long-term solution in goal has once again brought Guglielmo Vicario into focus, despite ongoing speculation linking the club with Emiliano Martínez.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Vicario has remained on Inter’s shortlist since December and continues to be regarded as a strong candidate for the goalkeeper position. While Martínez has recently emerged as a high-profile option, Inter’s internal discussions reportedly still include the Italian shot-stopper among their primary targets.

Vicario, currently at Tottenham Hotspur, has impressed with his consistency and composure since arriving in the Premier League. His performances have not gone unnoticed, with Inter maintaining long-standing interest in the 27-year-old as part of their succession planning between the posts.

Romano adds that talks with Tottenham could follow if Inter decide to advance their pursuit. However, no formal negotiations have begun at this stage, and the situation remains one to watch as the summer transfer window approaches.

Meanwhile, Martínez’s name continues to circulate due to his experience and proven quality at the highest level, but Inter appear to be keeping multiple options open rather than committing to a single target.
